Without beeing an instrument expert, it seems to me that this is an example of a photographic phenomenon called "wide-angle distortion". The horns are most likely identical. The picture of Mr. Jacobs to the right, is apparently taken from a low viewing point, and with a wide angle lens, slightly off centered as well. It's the same thing that happens when someone takes a snap of you close up front. "Look Ma, why is my nose so big"?
