I owned a St Pete for several years as my first horn, and I was very impressed with its sound from day one. The valves, however, were a nightmare: zero compression, and VERY slow.
All in all, it was a good deal from TE at the time, considering the low price (which, I understand, hasn't changed in 5 years), but I wouldn't buy another one.
