My new Harvey-Phillips CC tuba is working out GREAT!!! I really love it, and it seems to be a quality tuba. I have already had my wind ensemble director at UTEP tell me to back off because that tuba projects very well, and that is sounds just incredible. The piston valves are a bit clanky, but Im not sure if i just need a new pad, havent really investigated it to much and, with the removable lead-pipe, I need to tighten that every so often. Other than that the tuba works very well. It has a good tone in all registers, pretty good intonation, and is worth the small price for it, In fact, I believe that this tuba could keep up with some of the higher priced tubas out there. Sam Pilifian gave a solo concert with this tuba, and he loved it, said it played really well. This tuba should really start to gain a name on the tuba market, as it plays VERY well at a very resonable price.
