I've requested pictures, haven't heard back yet. Judging from Yamaha's number system, however, a 381 would be a top-action tuba. If it is, and it's the horn with the 5v in the 4v assy, I'll pass because my modified Besson 982 is more than good enough for me. It's just a little too big for my quintet sometimes.
I have an old Holton 20" bell section on which I'll put the valves from the small Yamaha YCB with the rotor if this doesn't work out.
