I can assure you that most standard mouthpieces are made from one piece that
is machined externally first then internally (from both ends)to get the shape
that you eventually buy. Some manufacturers do the inside first then the
outside but with a thin wall mouthpiece you will have some of the external work
come through on the inside if you are not very gentle.
Exceptions are those mouthpieces that are designed with interchangeable
parts.
