I tried my big Helleberg on it and had big intonation problems.
I don't think that mouthpiece had any good effect on the fluttering, but I need to re-check.
I have a smaller Helleberg with a bored-out throat that I'm using now
that cured the intonation problems.
Last night I played with the tuning slide pulled out 3-4" and noticed a big reduction in the tendency to flutter. Just a couple notes tended to not start cleanly.
The tuner says Bb was in tune so I guess this horn was designed to play with the tuning slide way out. Unfortunately the 1rst and 2nd valve slides must be pushed the whole way in to minimize fluttering.

Are others out there pulling out the tuning slide 3-4"?
