Check the archives for MANY discussions on this topic. An alternative to the 4 valve compensating Eb is one like the Willson 5 valve Eb. It isn't compensating but it does have 5 valves so the whole chromatic range is available. Most importantly, try them for yourself and see which one feels best to you. Good luck!
