I've had some chop problems of late, and a lot of guys on tubaeuph have given me advice, such as, easy long tones, Remington-style tuning note C-B-C-Bb, etc. down to the bottom of the horn at mid-volume for about ten minutes. And quit. Gradually add other exercises as you gain strength. Luckily, I don't have any mandatory gigs for a while so hopefully this will do the trick. I did get an email about taking extra Vitamin E (internally as well as on the lips), vit. C and something called MSM. I'm giving all this a try as well, so I'll let you know how it all works. Oh, and check out a site called embouchure.com, about a new embouchure problem handbook in the works. Looks good.
