Greetings all!
My graduate assistant directed me to this site because of the Penn State comments. I must say that it was nice to see the positive comments. I have had several talented students, and the most successful ones were the ones that had the passion for playing and the work ethic to stick to it. Eleanor Rosevelt once said something to the effect that: One needs to have the courage to believe in the beauty of their dreams.

As Mike Forbes from the Army Band (and a former student) said: I teach "hire" education and here in my 7th year at Penn State since leaving the U.S. Navy Band in Washington D.C., my colleagues seem to share that vision. It's a great faculty throughout. the brass studios are led by Mark Lusk, Trombone; John Daniel, Trumpet; and Lisa Bontrager, Horn.

Thanks to those of you who made warm comments. There'll be a little something extra in your stocking next Christmas........Congrats to you Mr. Chisham, one of the newest members of the US Army Band!

Cheers!
