DEFINATELY know what your going through. After a year of CONSTANT slide greasing, with little or no results, our euphonium GA pointed me to Lanolin (i don't remember if that's how you spell it or not). It's without a DOUBT the best slide grease I've EVER ran across. I've applied that stuff ONCE, and that was two months ago. My slides move incredibly well now.
