Hi.
I had my teacher write a letter stating that an F tuba was a mandatory "book" for his class. He said that it was necessary for the next step of my education, graduate school. This worked, I brought in a price list with the horn I was considering highlighted and they approved a budget increase of almost 10,000. I was looking at the PT-16 at the time. I took out the loan, bought a less expensive horn and have enjoyed being able to purchase the things I need without having to work a four jobs during the summer. Good luck.
