Nope, I'm in suburban Washington, DC, what we call NoVA, northern Virginia.

But, yes, 300 miles is a short drive. I have driven from San Antonio to Fort Worth to hear Don Little play the Vaughan Williams (285 miles), and a symphony-going buddy drove from Arlington, TX to San Antonio when the San Antonio Symphony did the Vaughan Williams 2nd Symphony (275 miles). I used to routinely drive from Austin to San Antonio for the symphony--I had season tickets (95 miles), and when I moved to San Antonio, I stayed in an amateur orchestra in Austin, and drove the reverse for weekly rehearsals.

But I must be turning into a Virginian, because driving from my deep suburb in Leesburg all the way to DC seems like such a bother.
