Heck, Joe, the guy's who'd go and break the screw off by giving it a good sideways whack with a ball-pein hammer are the same ones who'd break the head off anyway by torquing that screw "really tight". Or use a cold chisel to remove the top cap... I'm sure you've dealt with your share of that kind of thing.

The tool that Kevin Powers describes in his web page with what looks looks like a hunk of drill rod sticking out about 2" could be disaster with some hollow French horn rotors if you didn't realize that it isn't drawn to scale.
