No sweat!!!

I was just bustin' your chops!

Fredonia is a small town in New York State, about 40 miles South/West of Buffalo. They happen to have a college there, that is part of the State University of New York. The school has a great music department, and is well known throughout the state for their music Ed. program.

There was much lore, at the time that I went there, about the Marx Bros. having done a one nighter there back in the days when they were still in Vadeville. The story goes that the local Fredonians were less than cordial to their act, and so, the brothers decided to immortalize (thumb their noses at) this town, by naming the imaginary country in their film "Duck Soup", after it. Whether it is true or not, it makes for a colorful story!

I have often thought that the alumni association should get together and adopt the tune: "Hail, Hail, Fredonia", from the movie, as our Alma Mater's official song! :-)
