I am pretty sure that I know what you are referring to. Even though it may seem that way, the decision comes down to what the committee wanted, and not one individual. I have heard the person who one, play a couple of years ago, and he was one of the most talented I had heard. A couple of years later and some more insights and he made it. He did it on his own merits though. I really was a coincidence, believe it or not.
