I am sorry, but the best recording of Bruckner 8 is Berlin Phil/Maazel conducting on Seraphim Classics Label. It was published in 1990. Enough Said, argument is OVER!

It is better than Karajan and his little band
It is better than the really slow Celibidache/Munich Bruckner melodramas
It is better than the hard to find Cleveland 8 with Dohnahni (but this is good too)
Don't listen to the Boulez Vienna one
It is better than the old Cleveland Szell one
It is better than any loud, crassy Chicago one
I have yet to find a New York one (but i did hear a bootleg concert from this year...Joe plays louder than a freight train in your face)
If I failed to mention some, it is better than those too...
One more thing.....why is this topic under Chester Schmitz????????
