I use vacuum cleaner belts. Just cut off a piece the right height, squeeze it to fit in the cork plate and chop the front to the right size to keep the valve in alignment. I learned this from Kevin Powers. It works great. No bounce like neoprene, lasts longer than cork....great stuff.
