I'm no expert on this subject, but form what I've heard through others, that the first 120 or so horns were made by hand. Both Yamaha tubas that I own are below the number 120 on the last 3 digits, so I'd guess that your 621 is handmade, and could possibly be the 8th tuba of that model made.
