The new King has the same low register tendencies of a "good" 2341. You can't flat blow the tar out of the low register, however it does exist and does project quite well when finessed. If you compare the King to some very large bore BBb's it is stuffy in the lower register (below low F), however the horn has a huge amount of efficiency in the middle and upper register. I believe that if someone who is used to "american" style horns (those other than Yorks and their clones) that they will feel very comfartable with this instrument. It is similar to the blow of the old king and Conn's and Old's tubas of yesteryear. I still think that for the money and for a BBb you cannot do much better.
