I prefer the Denise Wick to the H&B. It may be the only mute that actually makes the tuba sound different & soft rather than just merely softer.
I wish somebody could make me a metal "Harman" style mute for my tuba. I'm looking for a nice nasal-metal-edged sound......think Miles Davis edgy-spatter-tone when playing ballads.....only a lot lower.
