My research in old Conn catalogs and bass flyers does not reveal any 42K model.
The Jumbo horn (4 valves) was listed as 48K.
The Sousaphone Grand (the precursor of the 20K) was the 38K (3 valves) or 40K (4 valves)
The Eb Sousaphone was the 26K (3 valves) or 28K (4 valves)
There WAS a 'lightweight' sousaphone, same bore as the Sousaphone Grand (.734 -- same as later 20K) which was the 32K.
Is it possible that the number is 32K rather than 42K??
