Way back in undergrad days, in January 1978 I signed out a Meinl-Weston 32 CC. I wouldn't suggest trying to do this during marching season in the Fall, because for about a month, my mind was jello. However, after that month, my instructor noted that my sight reading was better than it had ever been on BBb. Why? Maybe it was because i was only in my 5th year of playing anything, had started on trumpet, and still felt comfortable with 'C' being 'open', 'A' 1-2, 'F'1st, etc. Maybe it was because of the high level of concentration, because I so wanted to make a go of this CC thing. For whatever reason, it worked well.
