There were only a dozen or so Besson 985 F tubas made.
They were withdrawn from the Besson range because
of there tuning problems.
They were cut down 983 EEb tubas and were made for the American
F tuba market.
Besson soon realised that these instruments were not as good
as they should be, and started to re-design there F tubas from scratch.
The 985 F tubas that they made were sold off to dealers in the UK very cheaply.
