Well, I will admit that I know what you are talking about. There you are... in an audition... or coming up to a particularly difficult section... and you find yourself thinking about stupid stuff. The more you try to focus and put everything else out of your head, the worse it gets. Sometimes, if you just let it flow, it will go away before the actual lick gets there and you can do what you came there to do.
