Okay, what is the right tempo for the following excerpts? (do these look familiar? i.e. tapes to the big auditions coming up..)
Benvenuto Cellini Overture - Rehearsal #16 to the 5th bar of #19
Mahler 1 - 3rd movement: 4 bars before Rehearsal #3 to #4 - (is this one
done at 60 bpm?)
Prokofiev #5 - 1st movement: Rehearsal #3 to 2 bars before #6
Wagner - Die Meistersinger Act 1 Prelude: J to L (Is this one at 100
bpm?)
Wagner - Die Walkure Ride of the Valkyries: B major section, m. 125 to
142
and what about these?
Mahler #2 - movement 5 rhl. 10 - 11
Berlioz - Hungarian March - Rhl. 20 - 2 after 21
Berlioz - Fantastique - 86 to the end
I know there are no DEFINITIVE tempi, but I want to poll the crowd, and I will probably go with the average...this is just for my own info...
