I do agree. The bass sound on most classical CD's is just plain !(AT)#.
Perhaps what we need is more tuba players in the business of re-mastering CD's. There may not be an abundance of "pro-orchestra" gigs right now, but a little education in sound editing would make us invaluable to the CD community.
