Believe it or not, many of the Magnavox products are made by their parent company, Philips and they just put on a Magnavox name and price.
You have found the Jacobs sound. It varies from what group he would play, what composer and most importantly what concept of sound he wanted. I remember sitting with him at his house going through a box of mouthpieces. He would say "I used this to play Bruckner, this for Strauss and so forth." A prime example is the adjustable cup mouthpiece but whenever he changed his hardware, he also changed his conception of sound.
