Dance of the New World by Dana Wilson has a muted tuba solo, it's very interesting. It's like spooky-African tribal music. LOTS of percussion...my high school band played it the year before last at the BOA Indianapolis Concert Band Festival....along with some other pieces. I didn't personally play it, but I know there is a recording you can download off of Morpheus or some other MP3-sharing program of the United States Navy Band playing it.
