Interestingly enough, the other two horns I had at the time I had my Yamaha F had to have the slides CUT about 1/2" to 3/4" while the Yamaha had the tuning slide out about 2 inches or more. My current horn plays with the main slide all the way in for me. That would make me more inclined to believe that the pitch problem was with the Yamaha being built high as oppossed to an embouchure one.
