That tuba is tuned at A443. What alot of people have done is to have the two slides that go into the main part of the tuba on the main tuning slide extended at least two inches on each side, sometimes 2 1/2 to 3 inches. See how far out you play with it now in tune with all your mouthpieces. Hellenburg style mpc's work well with that tuba. This works well and especially if you tend to play in hotter climates. Yamahas tend to play with the tuning slide almost all the way out when you play with groups that play at A440.
Great little tuba for any group. Good Luck. I stilll think Yamaha should make it now instead of the YCB 861 they have now.
