A recording released some 40 years ago contained a cut by the Karl Von Stevens group, a polka band. The name of the composition was "Happy Little Oom-Pah-Pah," and it featured (as you might guess from the title) a solo tuba.
Have any of you erudite individuals on this list, knowledgeable as you are about serious tuba literature, heard of this piece? If so,
1. Who was the tuba player on the recording? Was it KVS, himself? (And who in the world is this "Karl Von Stevens"?)
2. Is the tuba part for "Happy Little Oom-Pah-Pah" available anywhere, and if so, where?
Thanks in advance for any help on this one.
Les
