I eagerly tried the Sibelius demo about 3 years ago. It was way beyond me. Have since tried the Coda family. what I like about the Coda family is that the files can be shared; i.e., one can buy PrintMusic for about 50 bucks, and it seems to translate back and forth from Finale OK. I tried reading a PrintMusic file with NotePad, the "free" version, and it read OK.
Plus you can buy PrintMusic, then upgrade to the next level(s). No need to blow the whole wad of cash at once.
