My opinion, get the 188, but ask your teacher to accompany you/listen in as you playtest them both. Forget the other horns people mentioned, since it sounds like you have narrowed your decisions down already. Try not to let our group members' enthusiasm for whatever they own/sell/dream about muddy the water-you've done the work in narrowing the field and now's a GREAT time to simply go for it! You can always get another horn down the road if different options look attractive to you later.
