Listening to NPR this morning (WGBH in Bahstahn) I heard an article about "Narcos Corridos" music (Spelling is my guess). Apparently there is a style of music in Northern Mexico called corridos (?) which is Spanish language cowboy music similar to Texas and southwestern English language cowboy music. Any aficionados, please forgive my ignorance.
Anyhow, they played a tune in the background while the reporter babbled and made it hard to hear the music. I think what I heard is some fantastic tuba playing. The best I can describe it is: similar to bass guitar lines I have heard in mariachi bands, but on a tuba. Incredible bass line!
Anybody else hear it?
