I agree with most of your points Charlie. It's one of the smoothest, most responsive BBb tubas I have ever played, but still getting a big, lush sound. it reminded me of a Culbertson 4098, but with pistons and (of course) in BBb. For the first time in my life, I really did not play many tubas. I think all I played at TMEA was a PT-20, the 191 copy that Custom has, the 1291 BBb, the s-191 for comparison, and the 1295 CC. I wanted to play a Gronitz CC, but tuba exchange did not bring any. TMEA is a great convention, and I can't imagine a better place to hold a major convention than San Antonio. Perfect weather, the riverwalk resturants, affordable hotels, great public transportation. The only thing San antonio does not have is a good airport.
It was nice seeing many of the regular posters there. I did not work a booth for Brookmays, so I may of missed many of you that were there.

Mark
