I had a St. Petersburg, and i really liked it. I didn't encounter any of the problems mentioned on the BBS because i took care of the instrument. The new model plays really well, the valves are a little sluggish, but it makes a better sound than the miraphones do, with the exception of the 191. When i bought mine, i paid $3,200 for it, a reunion blues gig bag, and a monster hard case (it is an older model). When i 'upgraded' to my hirsbrunner, i sold the whole lot for $2,750 on EBay. i was very happy with it, and i know i got at least $500 worth of playing out of it. i don't recommend it for a serious college student, because there are better instruments out there, but for a junior high/high school it's a great horn. i would advise you to try it out first, and shop around, but i actually liked the instrument and what it did for me.

sorry everyone else had a bad experience with them
