The only problem I have had with intonation with the 582 was the A first space was low and on some had to be played 1-3 like on some Bessons.
Had a little trouble with the valves sticking till they broke in but lapping them fixed the problem easily. Some of the slides needed to be swedged or aligned to make them stay in or slide correctly.
I have had 2 students do well in UIL and at All State competition on these tubas.
They play well and with a good sound.
