Hey guys.

Had an audition for Tanglewood today and found out how the BSO tape round worked.

75 tapes were submitted. 4 were passed on to prelims (this was down from 120+ submitted and 7(?) passed on last year). For those who are curious, the audition process was explained this way: the committee listens to each tape. If a committee member feels that the tape has a chance, then he/she says so and the tape is played again. If, upon hearing the tape again, another committee member feels the same way, then the tape is passed on to prelims. This obviously only happened four times. This was how it worked. Anyone know if other orchestras do it the same way?

Thanks,
Aubrey
