I have been doing the same warm-up routine for the past four years; mostly consisting of going through Wesley Jacobs' Warm-Up book, published by Encore. There is an excercise in there, consisting of descending sixteenth-note patterns going in each key, that I use to focus in on tonguing speed. In four years, I have never been able to push beyond quarter=120. I try adding a tick each day, with no improvement. This has really gotten me frustrated. I need help! What can I do to help improve my tonguing speed? What do you suggest? What have you done to help improve your own speed?
I know this is a question that has been asked before, but I have not found an answer that has helped me, to this point.
Thank you for your time,
Matt
