Well, I can't speak for other professionals but I will say that for myself, the reason I don't play a Willson 3050 CC tuba is because I already had my Nirschl 6/4 before actually trying the Willson 3050. I played on both models at the last ITEC, the piston and rotary versions. Both are really nice tubas that felt just a bit smaller to me than my Nirschl. They both would be perfect for someone looking at owning a big horn that was still flexible enough to do some other things with too. I felt this horn was somewhat similar in size and feel to the PT-6, maybe a bit bigger.

Doesn't Paul K. in Philly use one? I bet there are also a host of pros that use the Willson Eb tuba (3100). I know I love mine.

My opinion for what it's worth...
