I met Dr Bowmen briefly at the Sydney Tubamania conference a few years ago.
I certainly found him to be one of the finest euphonium players in the world, but not only that. In the short time I spent speaking with him, I also found him to be a complete and utter gentleman.
I am the richer for meeting him and hearing him play!
