I had a teacher that used a 5/4 Rudy and it was God-awful. Really terrible pitch and and not friendly to play, but he loved it. I personally would take my Hirshy up against any Rudy or PT. Its all up to the player's tastes and preferences. You can play on any horn and the sound that comes out of the bell is the sound you have in your mind. Good luck and enjoy your new horn.
