Joe gave you some very good eBay advice. I however would encourage you to go another route. I believe you should contact a high volume merchant of tubas, like Baltimore Brass or Dillon Music, which you could put your horn on consignment. These folks will do all of the advertising on thier website for you, display it 40 hours a week for you, represent the horn for you, and even negotiate on your behalf if told to do so. To take that even further, they could give you a good starting point for which to put your horn on consignment for. You also only have to ship the horn once (hopefully). All of this for only approx. 10% of the sale revenue.
This would be my first route. Usually because of the play test process, you want have to worry about any returns back to you like you might with eBay. Plus with eBay, there is a percentage of revenue involved there also.
What it really boils down to is where you feel your best interests lie.
