I wonder what that "harder plastic" stuff is that Yamaha has been using lately?
I'm sure that it saves them money over the troublesome-to-manufacture metal guides that they used originally. The only benefit to the consumer is durability vs. the nylon, as the newer "hard plastic" Yamaha guides seem about as noisy as metal.
