Actually, it doesn't resemble the Holton that closely. The bell stack tapers faster on the Kanstul, meaning that the bottom bow has a much lager girth on the Holton. The Holton is just plain fatter. The designation as a 5/4 sounds quite reasonable to me.

The valve arrangement is sort of similar, but only in the sense of it being similar to all front action piston tubas with vertically arranged valves (as opposed to the angled valves I have on my York Master).

I expect that with the smallish bore, the instrument is quite responsive and easy to play. It looks to me like a King with a 5/4 body.

I wonder if Chuck can explain the purpose of the bell attachment ring. Is there a forward bell, or is it just to make the instrument easier to fit cases for?

Any notion of the price point?
