1/ The double-bell is a cute gimmick, but it never really caught on - as, for instance, the Bb-A switchover option didn't really catch on with trumpets and cornets. You can buy (cheap) an old bell-front alto horn and convert any bell-front baritone to a double-bell, if you've the skill, motivation, and time.

2/ Euphonium manufacturers have bought into the 4-valve compensating system, rather than the in-line compensating system. I frankly (being a tuba-er and used to the in-line compensating system) would prefer a 5th valve.)
