Reading this reminds me of what I usually feel when attending a symphony concert: that we are living in an extraordinary slice of time: that period when classical music is available and common. When you think how long civilization has been around, and that we are privileged to live at this point in time, it really is amazing. There is no other time period when I could have played all the instruments I do and enjoyed all the musical groups I do. Even today, I could have been born into a culture where the plethora of choices available to me now, would not have been there. It's one of those things that I continually appreciate.
