All that proves is that some composers is unliterate!
Just checked the "Lines" menu on Sibelius 2.1 and it does include 8va and 8vb. I just checked my Oxford Concise and 8va bassa and 8va sotto are listed (ever seen 8va sotto? I haven't) but not 8vb.
So go figger...
