I whole heartedly agree with this. Not many that visit this board know that the brass repertoire at Tanglewood was minimal last summer and there were very few opportunties for Mr. McCaslin to play in the Fellowship Orchestra. This was a point that was well protested not only by Fellowship students last summer but members of the BSO brass section as well. Also, don't forget that Ron Barron, Principal Trombone of the BSO heard the recent finals for the BSO and he hears Tanglewood auditions as well as , so Mr. McCaslin has played a recent audition. I don't know how Tom McCaslin is as a player but I'm sure he plays at a very high level. Tanglewood is first and foremost an educational experience, not a gig, and most likely the Tanglewood faculty feels that Mr. McCaslin deserves to be there again this summer for that very reason.
