There is a system out there called, I think, Tune-up, that comes on CD, that is very, very good. It demonstrates using beats (or lack thereof) how to play chords in tune. I saw a demonstration at a horn workshop where three very out-of-tune college horn players "got it" in about a half hour, because of the CD. It is marketed by Steve Colley. You should be able to find it using a google search.
